The Ontario Superior Court of Justice has invalidated the OMA’s approach to proxies for the Aug. 14, 2016 General Meeting, concluding that they need to be re-issued in a more fair and balanced form.
Several consequences are expected as a result of the ruling
1. The current form of proxy is invalid and all votes submitted to date are void
2. A new form of proxy and notice of meeting will be mailed in the coming days.
3. As a result of re-mailing of materials, the meeting date could change to allow time for OMA members to review information and make an informed decision. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
As a result of the re-mailing of materials, please hold off on voting until you receive the new form of proxy in the mail or email.
